1. WHAT SURFACE DO I NEED TO BE ABLE TO ERECT MY REDPATH COLONIAL GREENHOUSE?
 A flat level surface is ideal, this can be made of soil, grass, paving, concrete or a combination of these materials. If the ground is not level then you will be required to adjust your base framework to be level, so that the greenhouse base rail may sit on a level surface..
2. DO I NEED SOME SORT OF BASE OTHER THAN A FLAT LEVEL SURFACE?
 No, at minimum though you will require a peg (50x50x600 builders peg tanalised) positioned at one meter intervals around the inside of the base rail to then screw the base rail to. Many customer do install a base footing (the same dimensions as the aluminium base rail) - this can be made from timber, concrete or bricks. The base rail then can be screwed, or dyna bolted to this base.
3. MY GARDEN IS ON AN INCLINE. WHAT SORT OF BASE DO I NEED?
Remember a flat level surface is ideal. You can build from the highest point outwards or the lowest point inwards to bring the site to level. Any of the above components mentioned will be ideally suited. Build-up the base on the low sides – so that the greenhouse will sit close to level.
4. WHAT CHOICES DO I HAVE FOR CLADDING MY COLONIAL GREENHOUSE?
Redpath offer the colonial series greenhouse with our industry leading Duratough long life greenhouse film. (the same as is used over commercial greenhouse crops) . Alternatives are to use “white shaded” Durashade greenhouse film and in some instances (depending on the greenhouse size) – a reinforced translucent product called “Polyweave” can be used. Polyweave has a very high resistance to tearing.
5. HOW MUCH VENTILATION SHOULD i HAVE IN MY GREENHOUSE?
All of Redpaths colonial greenhouses come with one sliding door & one louvre glass window as standard. Some models are supplied with roof ventilation also (sizes of 4.8m & above). Additional roof and end wall louvres can be supplied for extra ventilation as an option if required and automatic vents should also be considered especially if the greenhouse is likely to be left unattended.
6. CAN I BUY DIRECT?
Yes you can deal direct with Redpath Pacific Ltd, or purchase locally through one of our many agents nationwide. Your local garden center may also be able to order your Redpath greenhouse in for you.
7. HOW IS MY GREENHOUSE PACKAGED?
Kitsets are usually packed into a carton 300mm x 300mm x 2.2m long. The side base rails and roof trusses are strapped together and sent as budles on their own.
8. DO YOU DELIVER?
Yes! In most cases the delivery price is included in the prices shown on this web site. Redpath greenhouses pack very efficiently & are easily freighted nationwide.
.9. ARE REDPATH GREENHOUSES EASY TO CONSTRUCT?
It does depend on the individual. Approximately 90% of customers do put the greenhouses up themselves. The greenhouse comes with its own comprehensive instruction booklet and if you do have any difficulties you can always contact us directly where one of our technical support team will be more than happy to assist. An alternative is to order your greenhouse with the “Pre-Construction” option. Pre-Construction means that Redpath will pre-assemble approximately 70% of the greenhouse for you before it leaves our factory and deliver it as a “flat pack” to your door. Prices are as shown on the greenhouse options page.
10. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE AN AVERAGE PERSON TO CONSTRUCT A REDPATH GREENHOUSE?
It does depend on the size of greenhouse. For one of our builder erectors it would take on average 5- 6 hours to build the frame up of the 2.5m x 3.6m model (Please take into consideration that the erectors are already familiar with the instruction manual). For the first time builder – it is best to allow yourself one weekend to put the building together and take your time. Some basic tools are required and some drilling of the framework is also required.
11. WHAT MATERIALS & TOOLS DO I NEED IN ADVANCE?
Tools you will need: Electric Drill, Level, Phillip, Scissors, Stringline/Level and tools to make your base (if applicable) Materials required will be timber stakes for the foundation (or base materials).
12. IS THERE ANY TECHNICAL SUPPORT AVAILABLE IF I GET STUCK?

14. WHAT KIND OF LEAD TIME CAN BE EXPECTED?
Lead times for delivery can vary slightly dependant on season, Typically though it is no longer than 7 working days between your confirmed order and you having received your greenhouse. Please do not hesitate to ask what the current lead time for our factory is when you order.
15. DO I HAVE TO BE AT HOME TO ACCEPT DELIVERY?
Most freight companies prefer that there is someone at home or work to sign for the receipt of your greenhouse. Please provide us with your telephone number when ordering so that we can include this on the delivery instructions.
16. HOW LONG AFTER DELIVERY CAN I REPORT DISCREPENCIES?
All discrepancies must be reported within 7 days of delivery. The limited carriers risk act will only provide damage claim protection for this period of time. When the goods are delivered – please thoroughly check the outside packaging for any marks , dents, cuts etc. If any damage is even suspected but not evident – please sign the delivery receipt accordingly (better to be safe than sorry)
